Series of Incidents

Since the onset of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military officials have been targeted within Moscow.

This most recent event comes after other high-profile incidents, including:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a explosive placed on a scooter was triggered from afar.

While a informant previously attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not formally acknowledged as a matter of policy.

Hostilities has been marked by covert operations moving into the center of the Russian capital.

The investigation into General Sarvarov's death is still ongoing.
