Former Treasury Secretary Summers Steps Down from ChatGPT Maker's Leadership
One-time economic leader Lawrence Summers is leaving the board at OpenAI, just a week after a batch of electronic messages between him and deceased financier the accused trafficker became public.
He commented in a release that he was "appreciative for the opportunity to have served, enthusiastic about the prospects of the organization, and eagerly await observing their progress".
Summers, who previously led the Ivy League institution, announced on recently that he would be scaling back from public commitments due to his connections with Epstein.

The freshly disclosed emails demonstrated that Summers communicated with Jeffrey Epstein until the eve of Epstein's 2019 apprehension for accused sex trafficking of young people.
In a separate statement, the artificial intelligence company said it understood Summers' choice to resign.

This announcement comes after the entire Congress of the legislative branch decided on this week to endorse a legislation that would require the US justice department to make public its documents on Epstein.
