Followers Urge Detainment of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande
Passionate fans of the actress are demanding that a person who breached a barrier and grabbed the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.
A widely shared footage depicts the individual from Australia pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the performers proceeded down a yellow carpet flanked by supporters.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by security officers.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "free after being detained", though official papers revealed that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.
Record of Disruptions
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.
Supporters Show Disapproval Over the Star's Past Trauma
Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring many.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further response on Instagram.
Several supporters also criticised security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for online networks to block Mr Wen's uploads.
Response and Premiere Information
In videos shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.
Numerous of attendees had gathered in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore mall, including several who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it started.
The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the unexpected friendship between two very different sorceresses.
The show itself is a adaptation of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.
They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning film of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, securing several for best costume and artistic direction.
